Hello Families, I hope your month is off to a good start. We have been studying winter celebrations this month and it has been lots of fun learning about different parts of the world. The weather is getting very cold so please make sure to send your child to school with appropriate clothing so they are warm enough at outside recess. Please let me know if you need a winter coat. Have a great month! Mrs. Mulvihill

Hello Families, The year is well on its way and the students are doing great. Everyone is settled in and having fun. We have been working a lot on mindfulness in all we do. We are getting to know our brains and how to maintain our emotions and feelings in all sorts of situations along with slowing down and thinking about their actions. How do your choices effect you or others around you. Ask them how they are being mindful on class. Our parent teacher conferences will be November 19th and November 20th. Please take a moment to stop by the classroom and sign up:) Have a great November, Michele Mulvihill

Hello Families, This month we are finishing up our study of penguins and will begin our farm unit. We will learn all about farms and each student will get to create and plan their own. At the end of the unit we will be going to visit a farm. We get to see the animals in the barn (often babies), see and learn about the honeybees and look at their hie, go on a hayride, and plant pumpkin seeds. It will be all day Monday the 21st of May if you are interested in volunteering. We are also studying insects this month. We have 3 different insect habitats in our classroom right now and the children are enjoying watching them grow and change through their various life stages. I hope you have a wonderful month! Hello Families, April is here and we are hoping the weather warms up and there is lots of sunshine. We have been learning lots in 102. We are starting to study non-fiction books and they are loving it. It's awesome! We are also starting new non-fiction writing unit where they can begin writing their own non-fiction books. In science we will begin a biodiversity unit where we will study trees and insects. Next Wednesday April 11th we will be going to the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall to see the Portland Youth Philharmonic. Have a great month! ~Mrs. Mulvihill
